    Halloween Decoration Ideas

Halloween is right around the corner, and that means its time to bust out the spooky yard decorations to wow trick-or-treaters. Are you stumped on Halloween decoration ideas this year? Don’t get your cobwebs in a bunch, we’ve got you covered.

Here are five spooky electrical Halloween decoration ideas from our team at Buzz Electrical.

    1. Witch Hat Lanterns

Are you tired of setting out the same old jack-o-lanterns as the rest of your block and looking for some really unique decorations? Try transforming inexpensive witch hats from the local dollar store into beautiful hanging lanterns. Just use witch hats, LED lights, string and this tutorial to transform your front porch or windows for the witching hour. The hats make a great focal point and add some visual interest to the top of your display if you already have lots of pumpkins and tombstones dotting your yard.

    2. Floating Ghosts

Do you want to make your house look haunted? There are a couple of different ways to incorporate ghosts into your Halloween display. Make ghosts to hang in your trees or on your porch with cheese cloth and glowsticks using this video. If you aren’t in the mood to DIY or you don’t have any trees for hanging, plug in this gadget to project ghosts onto the front of your house or apartment and watch them fly across the Halloween sky.

    3. Glowing Eyes

Put your Christmas lights to use by transforming them into Halloween glowing eyes. Get some plastic ping pong balls and draw eerie irises on each one. Cut an X into the bottom of each ping pong ball with an X-Acto knife. Then push the Christmas light through the openings. Tada! Holiday cheer transformed. Check out a full tutorial here.

    4. Haunting Animatronics

If having a truly scary Halloween theme is your number one priority and you don’t mind spending some extra money on your decorations, there are lots of animatronic options. Cover your yard and front porch in cobwebs, then add some of these jumping spiders. Or line your walkway with pumpkins and hay bales and leave this terrifying scarecrow to hold your candy on the porch.

    5. Floodlight Graveyard

Create your very own cemetery in your front yard using store-bought tombstones or cardboard and paint. Write clever captions that will make your trick-or-treaters chuckle, or stick with foreboding messages and R.I.P.s. If you want your graveyard to show up after nightfall, add some floodlights in spooky hues like green or blue.

    Happy Halloween!
