    earth day in arkansas

Earth Day is right around the corner on April 22! Do you have any plans to give back to the earth or appreciate nature this weekend?

At Buzz Electrical, we believe the Earth is precious and that we have a responsibility to take good care of it. We want to encourage our customers to celebrate and protect the Earth too. Here are six ways to celebrate Earth Day in Arkansas from our team.

    1. Clean up trails with the city of Fayetteville.

    April 20

Join your community in giving back to the Earth! Earth Day Fayetteville will kick off at 9:00 a.m. with a proclamation from the mayor. Teams will then travel along Razorback greenway cleaning up trails and creeks.

    2. Put on your running shoes.

    April 1 – 30

Team up with Fayetteville locals in the Virtual Run Earth Day Challenge throughout the month of April. The end goal is for all participants to collectively run or walk the distance of the equator: 24,901 miles. Map your own course and log your miles every day to help your fellow Arkansans achieve this goal. Participation is free and ends on April 30 at 11:30 p.m.

    3. Frolic in the flowers.

    April 20

Join the resident wildflower expert at the Ozark Natural Science Center for a Wildflower Walk. You’ll learn how to identify some native Ozark flowers and spend Earth Day weekend surrounded by beautiful nature. The walk is open to anyone age 16 and older and includes lunch. Tickets are $20.

    4. Pick up litter.

    April 22

Grab a pair of sturdy boots and bring the whole family to the NWA Land Trust Earth Day Litter Pick Up. Supplies will be provided, and the clean up will last from 5:30 – 7:30 p.m.

    5. Visit a National Park.

Step right into nature this Earth Day and visit Lake Sequoyah National Park. Enjoy boating, fishing, picnicking, or hiking across 1,400 acres of land and 389 acres of water. Visit one of the gorgeous nature trails beside the lake and try to spot Great Blue Herons, Bald Eagles, and Belted Kingfishers.

    6. Solve a “marsh mystery.”

Take in the views at gorgeous Lake Dardanelle State Park, and help a park interpreter solve a Marsh Mystery in the park amphitheater! Learn more about how to protect the Earth’s natural areas on the banks of the beautiful Arkansas River.

We hope you enjoy these fun ways to celebrate Earth Day in Arkansas!
